If it hasn't been tuned in 5+ years there is quite a possibility that it will never be tuned the same again and will be out of tune always to a certain degree. Odds are that if he's paying someone to pick it up it could be beaten and broken beyond repair. ![]() Upright or Grand, Outside Condition, Keys Present / No ivory missing, Keys Working, Soundboard intact / Not cracked, If it's tuned / If it can even be tuned anymore / Tuning pegs not broken, Felt pads are intact and hammer condition, Pedals working, Smooth action / not clunky/ no broken hammer shaftsÄo you have space for it? How much will repairs cost? (Can range anywhere from a tuning to full restoration which can be up to $8000+) How will you move it? (I strongly suggest piano movers as they have the proper equipment to not damage it ($150-$350) Once it's moved, it will need to be tuned after acclimating to a new atmosphere ($150-$350) ![]() Many things will go into whether a piano is worth it or not.
